10 Random Things About Kevin Douglas

Posted in random stuff and tagged by Kevin Douglas

A few of my buddies online (Mark Bell, Pawel Grabowski, James King and Alex Whalley) have done a “random things” post about themselves.  I figured I would join in the fun and do one, too.  (Plus, I couldn’t let Alex outdo me.  :) So, here goes….

  • I’m a huge, HUGE Doctor Who fan.  So much so, that I started catching up on all of the seasons through Netflix.  (I’m also in LOVE with Martha Jones (pictured, right)  from the show.( Hottest. Doctor Who companion. ever.) And yes. I want a Sonic Screwdriver.
  • I’m a NFL fantasy football addict.  I obsess over my fantasy draft and team every week of the season. And yes, that goes hand in hand with me being a football fan.
  • I hate wearing suits and ties.  Once I become location independent, I’ll probably wear t-shirts and shorts all the time.  It’s funny, cause the 9 to 5 job I have used to enforce wearing a tie to work.
  • I dislike the 9 to 5.  ’Nuff said.
  • I graduated from college with a degree in Information Technology and have now forgotten most things I learned. lol
  • I’m a big comic book fan. Even though I haven’t been to a comic shop or read a comic in a couple months. Been a little busy. ;)
  • I can’t whistle with two fingers in my mouth.  But, I can walk and chew gum at the same time.  Yes, friends.   That’s talent.
  • My favorite candy, when I when I do eat it, is Twizzlers Pull and Peel. And Cinnamon  Hot Tamales.  Hmmm, Hot Tamales.
  • My least favorite chore is washing dishes.  I need to start a virtual housekeeping service that does dishes.
  • I grew up in the metropolitan Washington D.C. area and before I move to Thailand for an extended period of time, I will probably go back to D.C. to begin Operation: Location Independence.

So there you have it.  Now you know a little more about me. Here’s an added bonus about me. I don’t have pictures of myself on the blog because I prefer to promote my brand and not tie myself to it.  Plus, I don’t want the ladies to start stalking me. :)

Later.

Wow, these random about me posts are all over, I feel like I have to do one now :) Learned a lot about you, really cool, glad you shared this Kevin.

Ha ha! Yeah, Ben. Do one. I can't wait to read it. :)

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the mention. I am pleased that people around you have motivated you. "Inspiration Provides Creation".

The more I read these about me posts - the I realise how cool we all are. Even the little things makes us all different.

Is Doctor Who massive in the US. In our local book store that is a real Dalek in there. A can share you a link if you wish. Just search: Dalek in Waterstones, Lincoln, Doctor Who

Hey James,

No problem on the mention, mate! Love your site and informational tweets.

Doctor Who has a pretty good following here in the states, but nothing like in the UK.

If there are any other Doctor Who geeks out there, here's the link James was talking about:

Very cool. Thanks, James.

Well, we have NOTHING in common (*almost* nothing ;))and I'm already stalking you. Still I adore you. lol

I used to love football (got me out of dishes at Thanksgiving), have a degree in Economics (very useful for a life coach) and never learned to whistle. (quite unbecoming of a lady, I was told.)

And I bet I could kick Martha's ass. :)

Nice list, bud. Thanks for letting us get to know you better.

Lol
Thanks for the comment, LMB.

I know the hubby and daughter have killed your love of football, but I still forgive you and we're still friends. ;)

I didn't know that you had a Economics degree. Yet another reason why you're smarter than me.

Thanks for stopping by!

awesome stuff here Kevin - great getting to know the man behind the blog!

the NFL is something I'd love to get into.. but for now I settle on superbowl each year.

Thanks, Mark. No shame in just watching the Super Bowl. It's a great game, usually. They play 1 or 2 games a year in the UK, too. I believe they've been in Birmingham.

I, myself, was really into the World Cup this summer. I was rooting for Brazil, even though I didn't really know any of the players. lol

Hi Kevin,

Nice list man. I like you have forgotten a good deal about my degree. I have my BS in Meteorology which doesn't exactly pertain to blogging or network marketing ;)

Thanks for opening up and sharing some little know facts about yourself.

Ryan

lol Thanks Ryan. I think it's normal nowadays to go in a field that has nothing to do with what you went to school for. In fact, it's almost required.

Thanks for the stopping by, guy!

Hahahaa awesome Kevin!
Loved reading that mate - and good to get to know you a little better.
I have to admit that I have never heard of any of that candy - but it sounds, no I lie - it sounds odd actually :)
NFL - not a huge fan but once I understood that the game is like chess and that the coach actually does all the work - I began to enjoy it. They're still pansy's for wearing padding though. (Yeah, I said that)

What else can I relate to? I LOVE doing dishes. Sad really but I find it kind of therapeutic. sad really
As for the whistling - I can do it, problem is I am usually walking and chewing gum at the same time, and it just gets messy.

My wife and her entire family are completely and utterly obsessed with the Dr. so you will be happy to know that she has already repremanded me on more than one occasion, because I have NEVER in my life watched a single episode of any series of any version of any Dr Who EVER. (I've also never watched any of the Rambo movies, any of the ALien movies. NO idea why - just never got around to it I guess)

Awesome post Kevin, sorry for hijacking it LOL

Every time I try to block you from my blog, you show up again! How are you doing this, Alex? :D

I think I need to take some type of card away from you for not having watched any of those movies. Especially Rambo.

What the hell, Whalley? lol

Haha Alex, I mostly hate doing dishes but cleaning in general eases my mind, calms me down--so yes, therapeutic. Is something wrong with us?

Anyway, nice personal post there Kevin. I am blown away by your talent ;)

Interesting post Kevin. I love getting to know the real people behind the blogs I read. I too am a huge fantasy football addict. So far I am 2-0. Go Dirty Birds!!

Thanks, Fred. I'm 1-1 in one league and 0-2 in another. It's gonna be a long season. Lol. Next year I want to organize a blogger ff league. I already have a couple people who are in. lol

Ha ha ha, extremely funny post Kevin, good job.

I can't relate to many things (NFL, Twizzlers and many other American stuff) but I take it that it's all good :)
Well, I know something about NFL of course (but let's not talk about it when we chat, OK? I might come out as a complete ignorant.)

I used to love comic books when I was a kid, man I had hundreds of them... :)

No problem, Pawel. I don't know much about soccer or rugby either. But I have been known to watch a game or two. ;).
