You probably know him better as “Scotty” from the original Star Trek series.  Scotty was the Scottish, miracle-working engineer on the Enterprise.  If you ever heard the term “Beam Me Up, Scotty” at any time in your life, you know of him.

My love of Star Trek the original series is pretty high.  There were so many great moments from that show that carry over even today.  And when most people will say their favorite character from the show is Capt. Kirk or Spock, my favorite, without question, is Scotty.

Scotty was awesome because he always had an answer for a situation.  And if he didn’t have the answer at the time, you can bet your ass he knew how to fix the problem when it mattered.  Although Scotty was the third in command on the Enterprise, he was really the heart and soul of the crew.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines!

If you’ve been following the blog, you know that starting today, I’m hosting a 30 Day Product Challenge.  What that means is that if you create something, like say a ebook, manifesto, or anything between today and December 15th, I want to feature you in a post.

If you want to be featured in the post, just send me a message on my contact page here.  In your message, include your name, short description of your product and a link to where people can download it.

Couple of my friends like Pawel Grabowski, Thomas Sinfield and David Shaw are already in.

I’m really excited to see what people are going to come up with for this.  The initial idea for this came about when I was writing a post about my ebook.  And then I figured I would encourage and challenge others to do the same thing.  Especially for people who have never committed to creating a product before.

Why Only 30 Days?

I wanted to keep it a simple 30 days so there wouldn’t be any added pressure to create something like a full blown software program or 12 part series (which you absolutely can, if you like! ).  But I just wanted people to create something that wouldn’t take an exorbitant amount of time to produce.  I chose an ebook because I think it’s do-able. It won’t be a 50 or 60 pager, but I hope it’s enough to satisfy folks who can really use it.  30 days is just enough time to think of an idea, plan and draft it and create it.

This is my first attempt at trying to create a project bigger than an iPhone app, so  go easy on me.  :D

Because of the holidays are this time, I will compile all the entries into one (hopefully) gigantic post after the first of the year.  I want to start off 2011 with a bang.  And with this project, we ALL can start with a bang.

I figured I would just put it out there.  Yes, True Believer- I’m writing my first eBook.

As a blogger, things I say on my blog I’m holding as being true and I need to be  held accountable for those things I hold true.

So, this I hold true.  The Smart Income Blog’s first eBook will be coming out in December 2010.

As my friends and loyal readers, you’re going to hold me accountable to making this eBook a reality.

The topic is something I’m holding kinda close to the chest for now, but I’ll be revealing more in the next couple of months.  But rest assured, I’m diligently working on making sure it comes out when I’m saying it’s coming out.

I believe that the eBook will definitely be able to help people new to blogging.  So be on the lookout for The Smart Income Blog’s first eBook, coming soon!
