Triberr: The Next Best Social Network

Posted in Blogging, networking by Kevin Douglas

Triberr.com.  If you’ve been on Twitter recently, you’ve probably seen the “tribr.it” short link on Twitter.  Triberr is an invite-only network that groups you with other bloggers.  This group, or “tribe”, automatically publishes your new blog posts.  Big deal, huh?  Yes, it is a big deal and that’s what makes this awesome.

Triberr is the type of start-up that should have venture capitalists salivating and ready to throw money at founders Dino Dogan and Dan Cristo.  The possibility of it becoming the next Twitter or Foursquare is pretty high.  I love the concept because it multiplies your blogs reach exponentially.  And who doesn’t want more people reading their blog posts, huh?

Smaller lesser known bloggers should really be able to take advantage of this.  I’ve been using Triberr for a couple of weeks now.  The key to using Triberr is getting those bloggers, who’s blogs you know and trust, in your tribe.  Now, getting bigger, A-list bloggers to join your tribe may not be feasible.  You would probably want to stick to bloggers who are in your follower range and close to the same niche.

Dan Cristo, co-founder, Triberr.com

“It’s a social revolution.  Smaller bloggers shouldn’t be ignored just because they’re less well known.” -Dan Cristo, co-founder, Triberr

The other added bonus to Triberr is that you can create your own tribes.  Up to 3 total.  More tribal members, more eyes for your blog to reach.  You decide who’s in your tribe.  That’s what sold it on me.  And if you don’t want to be in someone’s tribe anymore, you can leave with no consequence.  But, then, you lose all those potential RTs.

Genius.

I’ve already started seeing some negativity out there regarding Triberr and that’s to be expected.  People were negative about Twitter when it first came out, too.  They said that Twitter was” dumb” and “a waste of time”.  Some probably never did give it a chance, but I believe, the majority came around and saw the value that it had to offer and jumped on the wagon after bashing it.

Triberr is that new bandwagon.

I love the service and can’t believe it’s free.  Like Twitter, I think this should be one of those web services that should be paid with different tiers.  But, I can’t argue with a great free service.

Watch the video below from Dino and see if you’d be interested in joining Triberr.

verrry interesting, thanks... I had only vaguely heard about triberrr but I have now been persuaded by you to put it somewhere in the middle of my to-do list (at the end and it will never get done)

;-)

thanks Kevin

Great write up! I hadn't heard much about Triberr prior to this week, but I was lucky enough to receive an invite from a friend so now I'm officially in the Cool Cats Club. ;) I'm so excited to get started with this...it's an amazing network and (like so many others have said) I can't believe it's free. Thank you for giving all of us little guys/gals a chance to shine and to lend each other a helping hand!

Hey Kevin,
I wanted to circle back and drop a thank you note for the awesome write up.

Dino and I are always amazed that people are excited enough about the site to talk about it with their audience. But what's extra special about your post is that you honed in on the big goal... leveling the paying field for bloggers.

So many bloggers see the direct benefit for themselves in joining the site - extended reach and increased traffic. But few really look beyond at what could happen if all the little known bloggers in the world banded together.

If we all work as a group we can achieve more exposure than the Chris Brogan's of the world. Not that Chris doesn't deserve what he's got, but the fact of the matter is that there are plenty of unknown bloggers who are putting out equally amazing content, but they just can't get their stuff infront of enough people to breakout.

That's what Triberr is about. Giving the unknown talent a chance to make an earning doing what they love. Bloggers sharing the spotlight with other bloggers who they think deserve a shot.

That's the world we're trying to create, and it's not "Triberr the tool" that's going to make that happen. It's "Triberr the community" that's going to make it happen.

Thanks again for being a Triberr.

Much obliged, Dan. Thanks. You and Dino are adding value to the interwebs and I, for one, appreciate what you all have built and will support and promote it any way I can. Thanks again.

I find it strange how Triberr really just wants to sound like Twitter, but somehow, sending out "tribs" isn't quite like sending out tweets. They need to come up with something genuine rather than emulate another social media site. However, i encourage any imitative of this sort, because there are many people out there who aren't pleased with the current most popular social media sites.

Hey Mohammed,
Just to touch on your point about emulating Twitter...
Dino and I aren't trying to replace Twitter with a new network. Rather, we want to help people get more out of their Twitter experience.

Triberr assumes you have a blog, a Twitter account and a core group of people who you engage with. We simply streamline that engagement process by collecting your tribes most recent post and scheduling it for tweeting.

Hope that helps clarify it.
Dan

Thanks for your reply! What can i say, i am usually a skeptic in all matters :), but i do like the idea of more organization and efficiency.

And one better hurry with signing up for a tribe! The strong bloggers are already scarce. And with no available inter-tribing at the time....

It's a great concept. And I love certain tasks automated. So, Triberr is nice.

Me too, Christine. I've found the best value, though, in lesser known bloggers. I believe Triberr is as much about the bloggers who are not the A-listers as well as the ones who are.

Just noticed this post. I agree with you about Triberr. Dino invited me which pleasantly surprosed me. Noticed all the tweets I'm getting and it means I meet heaps of new people too.

Love the concept and what generous guys to be offering this service. Why would people be negative about it. It's not spammy neither is it intrusive!!!

Great that you are giving Triberr a shout out. Way to go Kevin :-)

Hey Patricia! The value and ease that Dan and Dino are providing for free is insane. Every time I go on Twitter, i see at least 20-25 Triberr short links. The are getting bigger and they're just getting started.

Recently joined Triberr community and still not know so much about it. Great insight about them and I agree that we need to take advantage of this :) Triberr is getting hot!

Getting in on the ground level of a great thing is pretty cool. Hope you have much success with Triberr, Kevin! If you play around with it a while, you'll get the hang of it. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

Thanks for the invite buddy!

No problem, Benny!

I got an invite a while back and am loving it's use so far, gonna put out a post to try and expand the people in my tribe over the next few days :)

Awesome, Pete! Hope you're enjoying it as much as I am. Meeting some really great people, too.

I just joined Triberr yesterday and am looking forward to testing the creation of my own tribes as well as networking with others using it.

You'll love it Justin. Hope you build a few killer tribes with it, too.

Hi Kevin,

Great post about awesome-meesimo Triberr! I'm totally fascinated with this and yes it IS genius!! To watch where this goes is going to be a ride indeed. I'm honored to be part of it and very grateful.

Cheers to you and to Triberr! Happy Sunday!

Much kindness, Elena

As am I, Elena. Thank you for the kind words and I'm honored to be in your tribe. :)

I'm in full agreement with Kevin! Triberr rocks. The people are genuine, it's not a spammy community and I've found all the content shared via the Triberr network to be quality stuff. I've been a part of networks similar to this before and the weren't nearly as smartly and legitimately designed as triberr is.

I'm so glad to be part of it...just wish you were in MY tribe(cause it's the coolest!) ;)

Ha ha! You're right, Marlee. I'm not cool enough to be in your tribe, Marlee. :D Your tribe is pretty cool. A few people I consider A-list are in your circle. Nice! I'm putting together a list of up and comers, though. Watch out!

Hey Kevin...wow...what a write up. All I can say is thank you for the kind words and Im glad to have you as part of Triberr's core community of bloggers :-)

My pleasure, Dino. Great job on creating the next big thing, man. Glad to be a part of it early. Kudos!
